PayFlow Pro: User authentication failed Reason Code: (1)

You are using Payflow Pro as your payment processor and you have received an error code when trying to pay via credit card: "User authentication failed Reason Code: (1)."

If you have received the above error code, it means that your Payment Processor is not correctly configured. Please double check the setup instructions here.

Verify the Allowed IP numbers. If the "Allowed IP Address" security feature implemented, this message indicates the transaction is coming from an unknown IP address. See PayPal Manager online help for details on how to use Manager to update the allowed IP addresses and confirm the payment processing IP numbers with us.


Other reasons for this error include:

  1. You can't have special characters like #, !, etc. in your password for verisign.
  2. Invalid Processor information entered. Contact merchant bank to verify.
